Title: Metropolis
Medium: Wood Blocks & Foam Size: 36x36 cm Performing and designing shapes was mostly what had to be focus on in order to create the model to mind and image how to place the items help you prepare. While creating a model it makes me think of the city we are living in and show how we could create it if we had the opportunity. Simple work that can be construct and as created ideas on a prediction on what we create the future through our perspective. The light helps us vision the beauty of the structure we create to also see the bright future of a home. |
Procedure
Step. 1 Brainstorm
Come up with ideas on where to form lines on the board when you have a frame board that is one by one. Also the shapes you use with size, material (foam, metal, and wood) and where to place the objects on the board. You can sketch the shapes so you'll have an idea how to create the model but you also need to sketch lines on a pad with a ruler that is at least 3 by 3 inches to be even as a square to set the structure. Be sure to create lines that would create triangle shapes to cross one another. |
Step. 2 Material Gathering
The project requires many materials to perform the model such as shaped wood, square foam, metal, plastic, or you can use other resources. Tools are important to cut each piece into any size. The work can be more productive if you use wire to add a little more detail . Have a list of materials that require this project.
|
Step. 3 Perform Creation
Begin constructing the model before gathering materials also be sure to make the model created specifically so light would bounce off the objects or capture the light to cause attention.During the progress of the work you may take pictures on how the model grows so you can easily reflect to the end of the creation. |
Inspiration
Robert Lynch is the main architecture who's been putting commitment in his work for about thirty years and has a talented set of skills that can make a difference in our town when it comes to designing building structures.
Behind The Meaning |
|
Exploring downtown milwaukee has many beautiful views on what makes the town so great and how we as a society admire the beauty of buildings. Light make the buildings stand out more to cause attentionthe most because the reflection or the light being capture. I design the model to be light color objects to also capture the light to show interest and able to adjustify why I myself want to create a brighter living environment that looks like futuristic change. When I look at the conditions of our environment it makes me think of the beauty of the town under the filth.

Reflection
The progress during the project was very simple to show and justify how to create the model of the the block structure and a very unique way to design a model to maybe learn for future resources as an architecture. The biggest part of the project was procrastination because the project looked simple to construct but I almost let it got to me and let the time pasted by. Time management was also difficult because I would have to find time to cut the wood by hand which take plenty of time. Placing the object were the least common task when you adjust each item and explain to peers around you why it would be that general placement for the item. The items could be combine to form other shapes and have dimension such as circles, rectangles, and cubes creating stairs.
