self portrait: Pop Art |
Me, Myself, and I part 2
Medium: Painting self-portrait Size: 36 x 36 For the project I kept the design resembling the pop art by Andy Warhol because its a big inspiration by the smooth solid colors that shows the meaning behind the art piece so while creating the work I'll be use acrylic paint so it could examine the bright colors. Also I wanted to create the art piece so I can justify and explain all the knowledge I had during sophomore year learning multiple different art that can leave a huge impact during junior year to help us gain the process for our meaning. |
Process
1. Brainstorming
Have a list or sketch plan to make the creation of the work. In the project also list the materials in the progress of the work.
|
2. Planning
before the process of the work think which style would work out and best fit your personality and inspiration.
|
3. Creating/Designing
After finding a design or a movement for the self-portrait begin the project at a pace to be on schedule.

Artist Inspiration |
Refection |
At the process of the self-portrait I had thought to do a pop art to make it look like the Marilyn by Andy Warhol because he makes the most inspiration in my work because the things he does brings my interest after showing the work. When I analyses the work of Warhol he explains in his work why the object, canvas, or person is so important. What really inspired me is that when Andy Warhol did nine faces of the original piece it made me want to go after my challenges instead of wait for one to come. In his inspiration what makes me move with his work is the color and how he justify the color which is the most important thing he uses in the work and takes the work to another level out of all the artist that were there during the pop art era. What brings attention to my point of view from the artist work is the color and why did he created the piece with specific detail.
|
There were many difficult task in the project and while I assume the project it was hard to paint the little detail in the eye, ear, and mouth if I wanted to prevent precision. Another difficult part of the process that occur was thinking of the colors for each background and face because there was a limit amount of time to finish the project. The simple parts of the work is to have a base color for the background so I use bright colors and primary color before using any dark because if you have solid dark then it would take the pop out of the art work and so you'll need contrast for the movement. I chose the position of my portrait because I want to show and examine how you can put art at a certain angle and experimenting on improving new art forms that can help me for the future art work that won't impact my difficulties during the process. I want to demonstrate the simple and the difficult task that I faced because I'll have the ability to enhance my art skill so make next project would be twice as an improvement while my art skills increase. During the progress the sketching of each facial the exact was the most difficult part to manipulate in close detail before painting the canvas to capture the vision of the work that I created.

Behind The Meaning
Behind the work I wanted to do pop art again like when I did the photo collage because the true meaning of my story was a big serious part of my life style and how when I only trusted myself and only myself because after let people in my life giving the trust I wouldn't receive the reliability back from that certain person even sometimes if that person was my own blood. But since I'm bring up that past I want to let the people who actually reads the little part of my story to let them know it's an actual story that I'm giving to show on the media that life can be complicated and now that I can trust people but the certain type of people that were there for me for many years and for my family is that we need to learn to forgive each other because you can't stay mad at a love one for long so you need to keep on showing support. The past is what we can't forget but leaving it for a bright future is what all people desire and strive for to achieve. The world is full of real things that surround us every day but the things that are the newest things change the human living environment and knowing I have really close family and friends makes me feeling like I can move on even though I struggle a lot during the past few years trying to control my personality but at the end all the work that you put in really does pay for because you have to push yourself to achieve the dream you are striving for and focus on the things you love and care about the most.
