Sacred Vessel |
Title: "No Mans Land"
Medium: Clay February 26, 2016 I created the casket because it represent the love ones that once lived and moved on to a better place and the sculpture was constructed because it also mean it will be a time for the new generation of our era would make a step forward into society. I chose the design because no matter how selfish, poor, rich, and innocent we are, we will all ended up being in the same coffin. From the title It means when the specific person past away that was once living it’s time for them to leave their legacy. |
Procedure
Step 1. Brainstorming
Come up with Ideas and create a list that bring interest to yourself and also others more importantly. Outline a sketch about a certain religion or inspiration about Artists that are well known. Write down ideas about how to construct. |
Step 2. Sketching/ Gathering
While Sketching create details before gathering the materials so you can focus on one point. Identify the material that would be on the creation. |
Step 3. Create/ Design
After gathering materials and brainstorming, start creating the art piece that you attend to create and be committed on what you have desire because time management would affect the process of the project. |
Inspiration
The inspiration to the piece of art is Michelangelo because he is a good example of an artist who is very well know when it comes to sculpting. When the screed vessel was introduce and clay had to be involved I decided Michelangelo would be the perfect fit to show that he can manipulate sculptures and creating that certain form he images. Michelangelo had many years to experiences ways to learn special techniques by putting multiple detailing in his work to cause attention in the work.

Reflection
Their was many task when it comes to this project and many ways to plan out the structure when clay is require but it shows more of a difficulty of what form of idea that will be involved. A common mistake that happen a few days before was trying to let the clay dry up over time while keeping it from close spaces because the clay was sensitive and easy to break which is showed in the middle of the processes. When the human figure was created The body was to big for the top of the casket to maintain the clay structure. A struggle that occurred was forming the sculpture which had to be against a solid flat material so it could balance the shape.
Behind The Meaning
The design of the work is to reflect on past life about the people you cherish the moments with that are no longer sharing compassion in your future, the people that separated from you and not consider in you sight are dead in a metaphor. While creating the design it also has other meanings, such as to symbolize life and how people who are civilize have thought on living their desires and becoming much more greater.
